Publication Schedule
turtleneck.net (sic) is a quarterly journal run by grizzled old pagans, and therefore it is released on or about the appropriate seasonal holidays as follows:
- Spring: March 21-2
- Summer: June 21-2
- Fall: September 21-2
- Winter: December 21-2
Check your almanac for the solstice/equinox and you will get the date.
Submission Guidelines
turtleneck.net is an online journal of literary culture actively seeking innovative prose, verse, and essays. We aim to represent the global culture with works challenging race, gender, class, and social mores.
We recommend braving the oubliette for a sampling of what work comprises turtleneck.net's beer and cake.
To have your work considered for publication in turtleneck.net, please send an email with your work attached as a plaintext file to submissions@turtleneck.net) Please use "Submission for turtleneck.net" as your subject line to avoid getting caught in our spam filters. The 'net ain't what it used to be, is it?
Please query before submitting to tweedJacket.
Submissions in formats other than plaintext will not be considered. That means no Microsoft Word (.doc) files, no Rich Text (.rtf) files, no Wordperfect or OpenOffice.org or Appleworks files. Just text.
We prefer to publish fiction, criticism, and essays of 2500 words or less. Book reviews should be approximately 1000 words. If you have an 80,000-word thesis, please send a sample chapter and outline.
turtleneck.net prefers not to publish previously published work (and this includes things posted on your own personal website.) However, if we feel the work is of exceptional merit, we will consider it. Please be sure to tell us if your submission is previously published, or if you are sending a simultaneous submission.
If you can't figure out where you fit; have a rant, literary game or trivia; or want to propose a hypertext work, please e-mail panphage (webmaster@turtleneck.net)). He will help you, after devouring your children.
